CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE CONTROLLED APPELLATION
GEOGRAPHICAL SITUATION: locality La Roquète, adjacent to the localities of Pignan and Piedlong.
AREA: 3 hectares.
SOIL AND BASEMENT: very sandy part (on the surface) of the appellation. We find, in the basement, the layer of red clay but this time
mixed with a crumbly stone called “pierre de Châteauneuf”.
GRAPES: roussane 33%, clairette 33%, grenache blanc 34%.
VINIFICATION: manual harvest with double sorting in the vineyard, followed by a third sorting in the cellar. Pressing in a pneumatic press, followed by static settling. Fermentation in barrels, demi-muids and lightning.
AGING: on lees in barrels and demi-muids.
Bottling at the age of 10 months.
PERSONALITY AND AGING: the place called La Roquète gives it a very special freshness and elegance.
